Mrs. Louise Bennett King

Mrs. Louise Bennett King, 86, of Royston, GA passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022, at her home surrounded by family. Mrs. King was born in Canon, GA on January 28, 1936, daughter of the late Hubert Bennett and the late Tinnie York Bennett. She was the owner and operator of King’s Hub City Cleaners and the co-owner and bookkeeper for King’s Auto Alignment and Wrecker Service. She was a member of Royston Baptist Church where she served for many years in the nursery and was a member of the Joy Sunday School class. She was also a member of the Royston-Franklin Springs Lions Club, previous member of the Ty Cobb Pink Ladies Auxiliary and Franklin County Meals on Wheels. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Katie Walker; and sisters, Maude Ethel Williams and Lane Brown. Survivors include her husband, Woodrow King; daughters, Wanda King Walker of Royston, GA and Tammy Beggs (Steve) of Canon, GA; granddaughter, Brooke Beggs (fiancé, Jamison Jones) of Athens, GA; sisters, JoAnn Wilder (J.R.) of Royston, GA and Carol Jordan of Royston, GA. Extended family members, Diane Moon, Kay Johnson, Rita Martin, Danny Stephens, Randy Stephens, Jimmy Stephens and Larry Stephens; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She loved her cats, Socks, Bobtail and Tiger; and granddog, Barbie. The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening. Mrs. King will lie in state at Royston Baptist Church from 1:00 p.m. until funeral hour on Saturday. During other times the family will be at the King home. Funeral services for Mrs. King will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022, in the Royston Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Barton and Rev. Eldon Massey officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Royston. Flowers are optional; memorials may be made to Royston Baptist Church Endowment Fund, Redwine United Methodist Church- Canon, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church- Bowman, NEGA Animal Shelter or the American Heart Association. The family would like to sincerely thank the doctors and nurses of Northeast Georgia Medical Center and Hospice of Gainesville and Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia, GA, and Encompass Health of Toccoa, GA.
