Mrs. Betty Nabors Brown, 84, of Royston, GA passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017, at the St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia, GA. Mrs. Brown was born in Greenwood, SC on May 11, 1933, daughter of the late Algie Wayne Nabors, Sr. and the late Molly Bramblet Nabors. She was a retired LPN having worked with Ty Cobb Memorial Hospital for 55 years. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Royston Baptist Church, a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy and a hospice volunteer in the 1970’s and 1980’s. She was centered around the care of others. She loved genealogy, travel, history, nature and above all walking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Troy Brown; brothers, Benny Nabors, Algie Wayne Nabors, Jr. and infant, Paul Nabors; and sisters, Alma Calvert and Frances Shelton. Survivors include her sons, Scott N. (Shelia) Brown of Moultrie, GA, Phillip L. Brown of Athens, GA and Ben T. Brown of Royston, GA; sister, Shelby Jean Crawford of Ninety Six, SC; grandchildren, Charissa Brown McKellar, Bonnie Brown Kudela, Tyler Brown and Rob Brown; and great grandchildren, Gracie McKellar, Gabriel McKellar and Noah Kudela. Funeral services for Mrs. Brown will be held at New Hope Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, September 22, 2017, with Rev. Johnny Jones officiating. Mrs. Brown will be placed in the church at 1:30 P.M. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening. The family is at their respective homes.
