Mrs. Betty Jean Phillips

Mrs. Betty Jean Phillips, 84, of Royston, Georgia passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Mrs. Phillips was born in Royston, GA on March 20, 1936, daughter of the late G. Robert Phillips and the late Willie Dobbs Phillips. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia and was a school teacher having worked for over 30 years in the Franklin County School System. Mrs. Phillips was also a member of the Georgia Retired Teachers Association and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Edward Phillips; and son, Paul Jeffery Phillips. Survivors include her daughter, Joy James (Bob Hartwell) of Cumming, GA; granddaughter, Jillian C. Phillips; and brother, Stanley Phillips (Mary Ann) of Royston, GA. A graveside service for Mrs. Phillips will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2020, in the Franklin Memorial Gardens- South in Royston, GA. The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until funeral hour on Friday afternoon. The family is at their respective homes.
