Rev. Billy Samuel Shirley

Rev. Billy Samuel Shirley, 83, of Canon, GA passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020, at his home. Rev. Shirley was born on February 8, 1937 in Toccoa, GA, son of the late Idus Daniel Shirley and the late Olal Wilson Shirley. He was a foreman having worked at Atlanta Natural Gas and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Rev. Shirley was of the Holiness faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Novil Cobb Shirley. Survivors include his sons, Randal Shirley (Debbie) of Bowman, GA, Todd Shirley of Dewy Rose, GA and James Shirley (Melissa) of Bowman, GA; daughters, Donna Kerns of Dalonega, GA, Debbie Hill (Terry) of Canon, GA and Sharon Wilson of Ocala, FL; brothers, Larry Shirley of IL, Terry Shirley of Turnerville, GA, Glen Shirley of Eastonallee, GA and Gary Shirley of Piedmont, AL; 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. in the Price Chapel Church of God Cemetery in Lavonia, GA with Rev. Roby Woody and Rev. Travis Shirley officiating. The family is at the home. Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, GA is in charge of arrangements.
