Mr. Douglas Wayne Cooper

Mr. Douglas Wayne Cooper, 73, of Carnesville, GA passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016, at his home. Mr. Cooper was born in Westminster, SC on February 19, 1943, son of the late Charlie Garnett Cooper and the late Lillie May Wilson Cooper. He was a truck driver, a member of Canon Church of God and a member of the Grove Masonic Lodge in Red Hill Community. Mr. Cooper was a U.S. Army Veteran having served with the first full tank unit during the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife, Mary Allen Cooper; son, Charles Wayne (Leah) Cooper of Lavonia, GA; brothers, Fred Cooper of Seneca, SC and Sam Cooper of Mt. Airy, GA; sisters, Charleen Isaac of Pinellas Park, FL, Frances Camp of Toccoa, GA, Oai May Qualls of Oakway, SC and Jean McClamma of Westminster, SC; grandchildren, Ashton Cooper and Morgan Cooper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Selina Farley; and sisters, Sandra Dickerson and Frankie Blackwell. Funeral services for Mr. Cooper will be held at the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 3, 2016 with the Rev. Shannon Owens officiating. Interment will follow in the Cary Memorial Garden in Royston, GA. The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday evening. The family is at the home of Charles Wayne Cooper, 49 Woodrow Lane, Lavonia, GA. Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, GA is in charge of arrangements.
