Mr. Emmett Earl Reece, 81, of Carnesville, GA passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at his home. Mr. Reece was born in Marietta, GA, on September 20, 1939, son of the late Ardel Reece and the late Lucile Burton Reece. He was a brick mason and member of the Franklin County Young Farmers Association. Mr. Reece was also an active member of Liberty Baptist Church in Carnesville, GA, where he was an ordained Deacon. Survivors include his wife, Hopey Rogers Reece; sons, Randy Reece of Carnesville, GA and Barry (Sherry) Reece of Royston, GA; daughters, Lisa (Albert) Cisson of Carnesville, GA and Lynn Reece of Athens, GA; brothers, Ed Roberts of Bowersville, GA, Huey Reece of Woodstock, GA and Robert Reece of Smyrna, GA; sister, Rebecca Hensley of Conyers, GA; grandchildren, Natasha White, Nicole Fowler, Nathan Cisson, Nicholas Cisson, Natalie Cisson, Dustin Reece, Kara Reece Anglin and Meredith Reece; and nine great-grandchildren. A graveside service for Mr. Reece will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2020, in the Cary Memorial Gardens in Royston, with Rev. David Souderes officiating. The family will receive friends at Liberty Baptist Church from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. The family is at the home. Mr. Reece’s casket was handmade from a walnut tree on the family farm, then cut on the family farm sawmill.
