Mrs. Ethel Bishop Fortson

Mrs. Ethel Epps Bishop Fortson, 96, of Danielsville, GA passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at the Abundant Living Personal Care Home in Comer, GA. Mrs. Fortson was born in Sparta, GA on March 12, 1917, daughter of the late William Hunter Epps and the late Addie Williams Epps. She was self-employed and a member of the Providence Baptist Church. Mrs. Fortson was twice married; first to the late Lucas C. Bishop and second to the late Will D. Fortson. Survivors include her children and spouses, Artry (Vera) Bishop of Danielsville, GA, Hilda Hambrick of Danielsville, GA and Patricia Ann (Mitchell) Haggard of Elberton, GA; daughter-in-law, Brinda Bishop of Danielsville, GA; nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Fortson was preceded in death by her son, Henry Wayne Bishop; four brothers; and three sisters. Funeral services for Mrs. Fortson will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2013, at the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Wester and Rev. Justin Baskins officiating. Interment will follow in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Ila, GA. The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
