Mrs. Mabel Mangrum Wood

Mrs. Mabel Mangrum Wood, 98, of Franklin Springs, GA passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at her home. Mrs. Wood was born in Floyd, VA on November 21, 1922, daughter of the late D.C. Mangrum and the late Pearl DeHart Mangrum. She and attended Franklin Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mrs. Wood also served alongside her husband, the late Rev. Roy W. Wood, as missionaries in South Africa from 1953 -1961. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughters, Elizabeth Boykin and Paulette Abbott. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Baxter and Thressa Wood of Franklin Springs, GA; grandchildren, Laressa (Calum) Mackenzie of Fort Myers, FL, Laurel (Jonathan) Murrow of Farmington, GA, Paul “Bo”(Mary) Boykin, Jr. of Ila, GA, Tyler (Randi) Boykin of Bishop, GA, and Andrea Walker of Kamloops, BC, Canada; great-grandchildren, Austin, Alex, and Jake Hendry, Madeleine, Ella, and Sophie Murrow, Glenn and Gus Boykin, Bo and Molly Boykin, and Kesh and Kiran Fellenz; and great-great grandson, Grayson; and many other family members and friends. A graveside service for Mrs. Wood will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, in the VA Conference of Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery in Dublin, VA.
