Mr. Mack Clinton Floyd, 84, of Royston, GA passed away on Thursday, February 04, 2016, at his home. Mr. Floyd was born on November 1, 1931, son of the late Clayton Floyd and the late Bessie Weaver Floyd. Mr. Floyd was the Chief of Police having worked for the City of Royston Police Department. He was also a member of the Peace Officers Association, an honorary lifetime member of the Georgia Association of Chief of Police, the Royston Volunteer Fire Department, and a United States Army Veteran. Mr. Floyd also attended the Royston Church of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Amelia Duck Floyd; brothers, Roscoe, Hugh, Gene, and Andrew Floyd; and sisters, Pearl Beggs, Ruth Wansley, and Ida Hunnicutt. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Derrick and Angie Floyd of Gainesville, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and Larry Hanley of Canon, GA, Rita and Billy Boleman of Royston, GA, and Melanie and Randy Dove of Lavonia, GA; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; and brothers, Jerry Floyd of Royston, GA and Donald Floyd of Canon, GA. Funeral services for Mr. Floyd will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 07, 2016, at the Royston Church of God with Rev. James Gunn, Rev. Eddie Wiggins, and Chief Donnie Boleman officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Royston, GA. The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday evening. The family is at the home.
