Mrs. Mattie Pearson

Mrs. Mattie Pearson, 87, of Royston, GA, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at the Spring Valley Healthcare Center in Elberton, GA. Mrs. Pearson was born in Lavonia, GA on March 11, 1926, daughter of the late Elmer Thomas Owens and the late Letha Mauldin Owens. She was retired from Oxford Manufacturing and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Royston, GA. Mrs. Pearson was preceded in death by her husband, Vasco Pearson. Survivors include her son, Mark Vasco Pearson of Royston, GA; grandchildren, Jessica Singley of Beaufort, SC and Naomi Pearson of Colbert, GA; great grandchildren, Caleb Singley and Madison Singley; neices, Teresa Lowrimore and Rhonda Mazzo. Mrs. Pearson is survived by a number of other nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Pearson will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian David and Rev. Gettis Allen officiating. Interment will follow in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park in Hartwell, GA. The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, GA from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening. The family is at their respective homes.
