Mr. Owen Ray Sudderth

Mr. Owen Ray Sudderth, 90, of Canon, GA passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens, GA. Mr. Sudderth was born on September 6, 1925, in Buford, GA, son of the late Martin Ray Sudderth and the late Julia Mae Tarpley Sudderth. He was a manager having worked at the Farmers Mutual Exchange, now Southern States, and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his sons, James Harry Sudderth of Hartwell, GA and Kenneth Ray Sudderth of Canon, GA; daughter, Charlotte Rae Sudderth of Augusta, GA; sister, Mary Alice Peace of Punta Gorda, FL; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sudderth was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Thompson Sudderth; brothers, Allen Sudderth, Frank Sudderth, Billy Sudderth and sister, Betty Roberts. Graveside services for Mr. Sudderth will be Monday, December 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Franklin Memorial Gardens-South in Royston, GA with Rev. Daniel Walters officiating. The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday morning. The family is at the home of Kenneth Sudderth, 590 Grace Baptist Church Road, Canon, GA. Flowers are optional; memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, GA is in charge of arrangements.
