Mrs. Shelbie Jean Pentecost

Mrs. Shelbie Jean Duncan Pentecost, 73, of Royston, GA passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2013, at the Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center in Lavonia, GA. Mrs. Pentecost was born in Marion, NC on October 21, 1939, daughter of the late Claude Alexander Duncan and the late Sarah Mae Duncan Duncan. She was a piano and voice teacher, a member of the Royston First United Methodist Church where she also sang in the choir, and a member of The Widows Hope Group sponsored by the Church of God. Mrs. Pentecost was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jackson "Bob" Pentecost. Survivors include her brother, Dennis L. Duncan of Royston, GA; sister, Mary Frances Ross of Royston, GA; nephew and nieces, Carolyn Boleman of Royston, GA, Robert Duncan of Loganville, GA and Amy Haynes of Royston, GA; three great nieces and three great nephews; step-daughter, Renee Pentecost Wright; and two step-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Pentecost was also preceded in death by two sisters, Claudia Ann Duncan and Rebecca Elizabeth Duncan. Funeral services for Mrs. Pentecost will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 03, 2013, at the Royston First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mac Enfinger and Rev. Jordan Thrasher officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Royston, GA. The family will receive friends at Royston First United Methodist Church from 9:30 a.m. until funeral hour Wednesday morning. The family is at the home of Mrs. Mary Frances Ross, 420 Springdale Drive, Royston, GA 30662.
