Mrs. Virginia Hilda Harbin Adams, 84, of Royston, GA passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2016, at the Brown Health and Rehabilitation Center in Royston. Mrs. Adams was born in Royston, GA on February 18, 1932, daughter of the late Frank Keese Harbin, Sr. and the late Tee Jacks Harbin. She attended Emmanuel College and the University of Georgia. She was a homemaker and a member of the Royston Baptist Church where she was in the choir, was a Sunday School teacher and also a Vacation Bible School teacher. Mrs. Adams was also a member of the Georgia Daughters of the American Revolution, a Brownie Scout leader, and helped renovate the Taylor Building at Emmanuel College. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Romeo Malcolm Adams; son and daughter-in-law, Julian S. and Lynne S. Adams of Hartwell, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Andrea A. and David L. Anderegg, Jr. of Buford, GA; grandchildren, Christie W. and David L. Anderegg, III of Atlanta, GA, Laura Anne Anderegg of Boston, MA, Emma Katherine Anderegg of New York, NY, Virginia Erin Anderegg of Athens, GA, Benjamin A.T. Anderegg of Athens, GA, Emily M.and Stephen Adams of Atlanta, GA, Benjamin and Megan DeWitt of Alexandria, VA, Elizabeth DeWitt of Penland, NC, and Emily DeWitt of Nashville, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank K. Harbin, Jr. and Samuel Verner Harbin; and sisters, Mary Fain and Agnes Davison. The family will receive friends at the Royston Baptist Church Family Life Center from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2016. Funeral services for Mrs. Adams will follow at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon in the Royston Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Barlow officiating. Interment will follow in the Bowersville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Royston Baptist Church: 767 Church Street Royston, GA 30662 or to the Emmanuel College Virginia Adams Scholarship Fund: PO Box 129 Franklin Springs, GA 30639.
